FAST LTA Launches Cooperation with eperi
Munich, 17. June 2026 – FAST LTA, the specialist for Zero Loss secondary and long-term storage systems, has entered into a cooperation with eperi, a provider of highly secure encryption solutions for data in the cloud. As a leading German provider in the IT security industry, eperi helps numerous organizations protect their data against unauthorized access while enabling them to fully leverage the benefits of the cloud. The two medium-sized German companies have established a sales partnership, as the vertical markets, use cases, and benefits of their respective solutions complement each other perfectly.
eperi specializes in encrypting content before it is transferred to the cloud, preventing access by hyperscalers, governments, and malicious actors. The encryption also blocks access by AI services, which continue to be viewed critically in Germany, particularly when handling sensitive corporate information. For organizations that still want to benefit from artificial intelligence, FAST LTA offers Silent AI, its on-premises AI solution.

As part of the cooperation, three primary use cases have been identified.
Regulation-Compliant Use of AI
Many organizations would like to leverage AI using internal data but are reluctant to expose sensitive information to external services. This is where both solutions work together: eperi sEcure encrypts every document before it is stored in SaaS platforms such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or cloud storage environments, ensuring continuous protection during both transmission and storage. Silent AI performs the analysis locally within the organization and gains access to decrypted content only within this controlled environment. As a result, neither the cloud provider nor an external AI service ever sees the data in plain text. This enables organizations to make productive use of AI while maintaining full data sovereignty and complying with regulatory requirements such as the GDPR and the EU AI Act.
Secure Cloud Usage for FAST LTA Customers
Existing FAST LTA customers already protect their data locally using the Silent Brick System, an appliance designed for tamper-proof backup and restore operations. As the need arises to additionally secure data in cloud storage environments, eperi's multi-cloud-enabled sEcure solution extends this infrastructure across virtually any number of cloud storage platforms. Data is encrypted before being transferred to cloud storage services such as OneDrive or S3-compatible storage, while encryption keys remain under the sole control of the customer. Organizations can therefore enhance their existing backup and archiving strategies by incorporating the cloud as an additional storage location without sacrificing control over sensitive data or compromising compliance requirements. Even in the event of attacks on cloud storage environments, data leakage remains ineffective because all information is encrypted.
Local Storage for eperi Customers
Organizations already using eperi benefit from reliable encryption of their cloud data during day-to-day operations. However, SaaS services do not provide comprehensive backup capabilities. For backup and long-term retention, a second, physically controlled layer within the organization's own environment is therefore recommended. FAST LTA provides the appropriate solutions: the Silent Brick System enables tamper-proof backups, while the Silent Cubes System ensures legally compliant, audit-proof archiving, for example for data originating from document management or archiving applications.
